Notice to other like minded 

The Sangamon County Libertarians are now officially formed. The Illinois Libertarian Party recognized this Chapter November 19th, 2009. The local party has doubled since forming. It has started a Web page and a Facebook site. We have done a series of press releases advocating freedom.

  We have reached out to other like minded friend groups. We hope to grow liberty in this community. Thanks to everyone for helping freedom grow. We are looking for a new place for the monthly meetings. Please remember, Rome was not built in a day and Oak trees don't get big over night.

 We need people to contribute in any way possible. Writing, editing, money, time, contacts, ideas etc. Please write an article for the web site and we will add it. Contact  the news and put the Libertarian meme into the community. By the way did I mention editing??? Please help!!

 We know that your talent is waiting to be unleashed. Please help people discover the idea of freedom. They have seen enough of regulation and control. The soil is prepared to plant the seed of liberty.

The last meeting (February 12th) was a success. We had over 20 freedom oriented people meet with the Libertarian Candidate for Governor, Lex Green. We shared food, freedom and ideas.

The Libertarian Party hopes to have a tent at the state fair. The SCLP is also hoping to raise awareness locally with a non-intervention foreign policy rally. Explaining how more debt and death will not benefit America.

Our ideas are main stream and are quite popular. Listen closely to the talking heads in the lame stream media as more and more of them are dis-associating themselves with the policies of this country. Many now claim to be libertarian or lean that way on more and more of the issues.

 Remember, a small but hearty group is all that is needed to bring about liberty. Locally, the SCLP hopes to aid local activists (which means you). Are you a modern Paul Revere?

We have our first SCLP banner that we hope to use many times over in the future. A friend of liberty used their talent to help the cause by creating that banner.

More people will join when more of us are seen openly advocating for freedom. Be it petition drives, a Non-Intervention Rally, or a state fair tent. The other two parties have brought us debt, taxes, war etc. Let us bring freedom.

No government program will bring the change we need. Local people acting locally will bring about the needed change. "Be the Change You want to see in the world." - Gandhi

The Republicrats are working to change America; are you? A world is being shaped by ideas and it is up to us to replace bad ideas with good ideas.

Views to the website are way up. We not only have members locally, but also from as far away as  Kansas, California and Quebec. Strange but true!!!!

Please write or call the media. It helps get the word out. Please support freedom oriented businesses.
